16mm vs 14mm

The FS Tour comes in both 14mm and 16mm, however compared to other similar thickness paddles on the market these cores react differently. With a 14mm providing more control than other conventional paddles of the same thickness with a more forgiving sweetspot, the 16mm provides even more than this however with a heavier profile. This is thanks to the combination of the build along with the weight.

Who’s this paddle for

We find that players who require faster hands at the net prefer the 14mm over the 16mm. Where as those that need more plowthrough (weight behind the ball) and better reset capability prefer the 16mm. The Dynasty shape suits those looking for extended reach at the net. One thing to note is the weight. The 14mm is a Midweight paddle and the 16mm is a heavy paddle at around 8.6″, if you suffer from any form of elbow or arm problem we would recommend either the 14mm or the 12mm featherweight here.
